Load safety with edge protectors
Load safety always has been and continues to be a controversial topic in general goods transport. During sudden braking, slipping of the cargo will increase the risk of an accident. The securing of e.g. paper rolls must involve lashing down, whether these are at risk of tipping or not. Suitable edge protectors must be used for protecting the edges of the rolls. MULTi-Cargo brand edge protectors with their special geometry and their full surface contact offer maximum product protection.
Appropriately for the recyclable and renewable resource paper, MULTi-Cargo’s edge protectors are manufactured using recycled resources as these are becoming increasingly scarce. The patented raw material Tectan® was successfully developed from plastic-coated waste paper. MULTi-Cargo brand edge protectors are manufactured from this material by pressing and/or injection moulding.

The material and the environment
The manufacture of Tectan® Form requires only paper and polyolefins such as low density polyethylene (LDPE), high density polyethylene (HDPE) and polypropylene (PP). These are mixed according to a product-specific recipe depending on requirements. The paper fibres serve as stabilisers and increase the rigidity of the plastic matrix. Due to the high proportion of paper fibres and our optimised production process, Tectan® Form features properties that in products from pure plastic can only be achieved with complicated manufacturing processes.
By including paper fibres (secondary resources) from 100 % FSC-certified cultivation, fossil resources such as crude oil are preserved and replaced by renewable resources. During the manufacture of Tectan®, there is no adverse ecological impact on air, land or water.
Tectan® products are suitable for multiple use, are 100 % recyclable and can be used for the manufacture of new products from Tectan® Form.
