Sliding angle measuring device

For simple testing of units of cargo

The measuring device developed by Nordpack makes measuring the tilt angle of you cargo easy.

From the tilt angle measured, the coefficient of sliding friction can be read off easily.

Quick guide

1. Lift the cargo unit to be tested (e.g. the pallet) with a suitable device (e.g. forklift) slowly on the right hand side only. Stop just before the cargo starts to shift.

2. Now you bend the scale 1 (white) of the sliding angle tester with the fingertips of your left hand vertically upright at the corresponding tab 1.
3. Then, you push the horizontal section 2 (red) of the tester under the angled unit of cargo, no further than the line marked on it. Please ensure that this section touches the corner point on the left.

Attention! Do not put your fingers under the load!

4. Then you lift the area at the tab provided (tab 3) with the fingertips of your right hand until it touches the angled unit of cargo. Now you can easily read off the µ value on the vertical scale.
